Identity vs Practice

Use a growth mindset when you confront challenges. A growth mindset compares your challenge with your practice with that skill. Success or failure is due to your effort.

Growth mindset says: "I haven't practiced drawing enough, yet."

Through a growth lens, your world is full of skills to learn. You can get better at anything with practice.

Constrast with a fixed mindset. Talent is a fixed quantity, and your success or failure is a reflection on your capacity as a person.

Fixed mindset says: "I'm bad at math." "I'm great with names."

Through a fixed lens, you either are or you aren't. You can't change your identity.

Which world do you see?
