Assume You're Responsible

You may not be to blame, but you can be responsible. Take ownership of your actions and reactions.

When it rains, I can't will it to stop. How I react is under my control. How do I dress? Do I carry electronics? Do I consider it a "bad" day?

I didn't get the tools I need for my work. Did I make it clear to my team why I needed those tools? Did I seek out alternatives? Can I supply my own tools?

They don't understand my idea. Can I explain it a different way? Can I tie it to an idea they champion? Is this the right audience?

You can't control your circumstances, but your actions shape your future circumstances. The effect is slight. Are you stacking the deck in your favor?
